Head Lice
Does the word lice make your head itch?
Unfortunately there are at least a few cases of a lice infestation every school year. This information is being provided to assist in the prevention, detection and treatment of head lice.
Lice do not come about because a person is “dirty” as stated by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Almost anyone can get head lice. Head lice are not a health hazard or sign of poor hygiene.
Children attending preschool or elementary school, and those who live with them, are the most commonly affected.
